 2015 SPRING OP SESSION
Thursday, May 21, 2015
Category: Operations Meet
Summary:
Details: Even though the op session is "scheduled" to begin on Thursday, on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 all available crews will be "setting up" by moving cars from storage to towns and industries on the RR. If you can come Wednesday, you will be "put to work."

After the freight cars have been set out, we will begin operations with whatever crews are present, usually sometime Wednesday afternoon.

We begin at about 9AM and operate until about 5PM. Each crew decides IF or WHEN they will break for lunch. Feel free to bring your own lunch. Coffee and soft drinks are available at the engine barn. Bring a family channel radio if you have one.

All railroaders of any scale who are interested in "operating at WCRR" are invited to attend. If you do not have equipment, we will assign you to a crew that does have equipment. If you are a "rookie", that's OK, We will assign you to an "experienced crew" to "work". They will teach you everything you need to know. We operate rain or shine. Bring appropriate clothing.

Please notify WCRR at least a week in advance, preferably by email, indicating the names of all members of your group that plan to participate. If you are unable to participate for the entire op session, that's ok. We prefer that you participate a minimum of 2 days. Just let us know which days you will be here to participate. If you "sign up" to participate and then find that you will be unable to attend, please let us know by email so we can "fill your position" with someone else. On op session days, best to be here by 8:30 am so that you can be assigned to a crew. If you get here late, you may not have an assignment for the morning.

If you have questions, feel free to contact us and ask. We will respond, usually within a day or less.

In case you didn't know, WCRR has a place for you to park your travel trailer, motor home, or tent if you will be here for more than one day. The closest motels are all located near Grand Rapids, approximately 20 miles away.
